Taxon: Bischofia javanica Blume
Family: Euphorbiaceae
Determiner: Bradley, Keith
Collector: Bradley, Keith   2729
Date: 2014-08-26
Locality: United States, South Carolina, Lexington County, 1000 Natchez Trail, West Columbia
Habitat: This seedling appeared in a crack in concrete pavement of carport soon after I relocated from Homestead, Florida, where the species was common in my yard there. It survived the winter of 2012/2013 without any frost damage. In the colder winter of 2013/2014 when temperatures reached as low as 15ยบ F it died back, but regrew in the spring. This species is dioecious, so this long individual would not have been viable, even if a female. Regardless, the individual has been killed.
