Habitat: Ca. 5.3 linear mi W of Claxton, ca. 1.6 mi NW of Bellville. Fairly abundant in powerline right-of-way and adjacent Pinus palustris-Quercus laevis woods. Elev. ca. 190 ft. Other associates included Myrica cerifera var. pumila, Lyonia mariana, Opuntia humifusa, Licania michauxii, Pteridium aquilinum, Aureolaria pectinata, Callisia garminea, Verbena carnea.
