Habitat: growing in partial sunlight during the day in relatively rich soil. Located on the outskirts of a wooded area used for study by Winthrop's Biological Sciences department. Has several other shrubs and trees growing around it. Located at the Winthrop Coliseum off of Eden Terrace on the eastern side of the stadium about 10 feet off the asphalt path as it curves toward the nearby baseball field. City of Rock Hill.
